The Paper Jets Reunite with Lambusta For One-Off

On Friday October 30, just shy of Midnight, Brian Erickson and Frank Lettieri took the stage with former member and founding Paper Jet Bill Lambusta for their first full-length set in almost three years.  They were joined by Andrew Kolbenschlag, singer/guitarist of Lambusta’s current band Small Planet Radio.  The occasion?  A special Halloween set at New Brunswick’s Court Tavern where the group played an entire set of songs by The Replacements.

The event is part of a twice-a-year all-covers show that the venue’s new management, Brittney On Fire, plans to hold.  Other acts covered Red Hot Chili Peppers, Screeching Weasels, Incubus, Fallout Boy, and My Chemical Romance.  But when our boys went on as The ‘Mats, the house was truly brought down.  Fans hurried down from the upstairs bar to sing, dance, and pump fists to the music of one of indie rock’s defining bands.  “This was one of the best shows I’ve ever played,” said Kolbenschlag of with a wry smile, “granted, we didn’t write any of the songs, I still had a great time…that was amazing!”
