BRIAN

1. What’s the first album you bought with your own money?
The Ghostbusters original soundtrack; bought it at The Wiz in 1993 with about six months worth of allowance.
2. What’s the first album you really fell in love with?
Whatever & Ever, Amen by Ben Folds Five.  It soundtracked most of high school and a good portion of college for me.  It was the first album I ever heard where I didn’t think there was a bad song on it.
3. What are your five favorite bands/solo acts?
Big Star, Harry Nilsson, Dave Brubeck, The Beach Boys, Paul McCartney & Wings
4. Your best music-related memory…
I got to meet Jody Stephens, the drummer of Big Star, just prior to a Big Star tribute concert in Central Park.  The concert itself was an unbelievable experience, but getting to meet one of the founding members of my favorite band of all-time was pretty amazing.
5. Your favorite thing about being in a band?
I’m a studio rat, so having the opportunity to make great records and having great musicians like Frank and Scottie to help realize those records is my favorite part of being in The Paper Jets.
6. One instrument you would love to learn (and upon which you currently have no knowledge or skill)…
Viola or some type of stringed orchestra-based instrument.
7. Three non-musical things about you…
First, I have an extensive collection of rocks, minerals, and fossils which I’ve been collecting since freshman year of high school.  Second, I am a dyed-in-the-wool New York Football Giants fan: my favorite players are Mark Bavaro, Eli Manning, Jesse Armstead, Kerry Collins, and Amani Toomer.  Third, I am a closet history buff.  I love reading, watching, or learning anything about history; about how we got to where we are today.
