Listen to ‘Of an Extrovert’ Now!

Alan Cross Top 11We’re excited to share another new track from Almost Nine with all of you fine folks! “Of an Extrovert,” a live concert favorite appearing in recorded form for the first time ever, is premiering now on A Journal of Musical Things’ weekly Alan Cross Top 11 Playlist! It’s a danceable little tune in the style of indie-rock legends Spoon, perfect for sashaying your way out of the office and into the weekend. Click here to listen!

Hopefully, this will hold you over until the official release of the full EP on May 26th. And if you just can’t wait that long, we’ll be selling advance copies at our free Record Store Day performance this Saturday, April 18, at The Record Collector in Bordentown, NJ! Music starts at 12 noon, and we’ll be joined by Anker and The Successful Failures.

And if that’s not enough, we’re also giving away early copies of the EP to those who purchase tickets in advance to our May 2nd show at The Hamilton Stage at the Union County Performing Arts Center! Just email info@thepaperjets.com to buy. Tickets cost $15 each, and the show starts at 8pm. We’ll be playing with Little Rose, Cold Weather Company, and Rose Boulevard. Hope to see you there!

So, you’ve got two previously unrecorded live staples in “Elizabeth Distressed” and “Of an Extrovert” as well as the newly written “Brand New Shoes” and the Tim Ryan cover “Jo Don’t Let Me.” We managed to grab some harmony vocals from an old demo Tim recorded and are happy to say he is featured on this recording.

New Song + EP Coming May 26 via FDR Label

Elizabeth Distressed ArtworkSurprise! It’s a brand spankin’ new track from yours truly, The Paper Jets! Our friends at Infectious Magazine are streaming “Elizabeth Distressed” right now. It’s an upbeat alt-rock tune with a pop soul, and you can listen to it by clicking here. You can also buy it on iTunes by clicking here or stream it on Spotify here.

Oh, but that’s not all. “Elizabeth Distressed” is but your first taste of our new EP, titled Almost Nine, which will be released on May 26! It’s a rock solid block of solid rock, and we can’t wait to share each and every track with you!

Finally, Almost Nine will be released by none other than the fine folks at FDR Label. That’s right, it’s our first label deal! They’re owned by Mick Chorba of The Successful Failures and Dipsomaniacs and have worked with some truly great musicians like Guided By Voices, Frank Black, and Matthew Sweet. We’re in most excellent company!
